Shepherds watching flocks by night
when there came a frightening brilliant light,
shining in the midnight sky
Well the shepherds fell down to their knees
as the angels voices would not cease
but they sang of good will and sang of peace
Well they told the shepherds âDo not fear because
God is with us and He is nearâ
They leapt up to their feet
and they ran down to the streets!
And as they found the stable in Bethlehem
a tiny baby greeted them.
Their lives would change when they saw Him

Well He grew up, pure and straight and strong.
Then preached so boldly in a synagogue with holy wisdom from above.
He was raised to work His hands in wood,
but mother Mary understood He was born as Godâs gift of perfect love.
Well He came to John to be baptized which was pleasing to His Fatherâs eyes
the Spirit then descended so the world could then be mended.
And as He left His home in Galilee, to start His earthly ministry
it changed the course of history

For forty days our Lord was empty,
Satan lied and He was tempted but
through it all He did not sin.
Well He gathered up twelve common men, that gave up all to follow Him
for He showed them Godâs love from within
Yeah, He healed the sick, the lame, the blind.
He fed five thousand on a mountain side.
To Lazarus He was led, so He could raise him from the dead.
And the disciples witnessed everything the carpenter would be their king.
No wonder angels had to sing

Well the time came, Jesus was betrayed
His faithful scattered they were so afraid.

and mocked a king with a thorny crown
and yet He forgave them in the end.
Well He died nailed to a wooden cross,
for the next three days all hope was lost
but God had a world to save
So He raised Him from the grave
and as He let His friends know all is well
that He kicked in the gates of hell
the powers of sin and darkness fell

a love that keeps forgiving.
Godâs master plan had been deployed,
from what started as His baby boy.
