The first chord is a G chord in the C shape on fret 7. I'll call that 7G.

You really don't have to use the G on the 7th fret, but it's what they use (I'm almost 

They use it because it has a prominent B on the high e string and it gives it a little 

different sound. If you want to keep it simple just play the G two times instead of the 7G.
