CAPO III
I woke up to the sound
As the missiles hit the ground
And a storm erupted like you ve never seen
The sky was burning red
From their graves did rise the dead
Decomposing, ravenous and green
But there’s nothing to fear
Cause the monoliths are here
Towering over our heads
One thousand foot machines
Equipped with jets and laser beams
Shield us from instant demise
They open up the doors
As we all clamber aboard
Leaving our homes and our lives
And once the ground is clear
We let out a grateful cheer
As the monoliths propel us into space
We thought we’d never see the day
When they’d be taking us away
To see the galaxy and all of the stars
Though it would be wrong to say
That everything is okay
It’s kinda hard to feel bad when you’re far
So far away
So we’re searching through the galaxy
To find a place where we can be
Prosperous and happy forever more
There is no anxiety
In our space society
As long as everyone does their chores
Yes because you see
We’re all part of the machine
The monoliths that hold the human race
We thought we’d never see the day
When they’d be taking us away
To see the galaxy and all of the stars
Though it would be wrong to say
That everything is okay
It’s kinda hard to feel bad when you’re far
So far away
