Midnight Symphony

I bought a drum from a rodeo clown
                                             
I put my head to the ground – I could hear a heartbeat

I played along with the cricket’s song
                                  
I heard it all around – a midnight symphony
                    
…oh gather round my fire
                           
leave your baggage at the door
                              
well the flames are getting higher
         
and the moon is bright
           
oh let my spirit soar…



I woke up late and I could not sleep
                                        
For all the wind in the trees – I heard melodies

I sang along with the cottonwoods

The moon was full and the river flowed
                                   
I felt it in my soul – the current spoke to me
