Biografía de Noah and the Whale
Noah and the Whale es una banda Twickenham, Londres, Inglaterra formada en el 2006.
La banda está formada por Charlie Fink con la voz y guitarra, Doug Fink en la batería, Tom Hobden al violín y Urby Whale en el bajo, quien se unió después de la grabación de algunos sencillos y el álbum debut "Peaceful, The World Lays Me Dow" en 2008.
Laura Marling y Emmy The Great cantaron en algún momento con la banda y en las grabaciones participaron Jon Carvell en el trombón y Sam Linrade en la trompeta. Laura Marling sigue actuando con la banda ocasionalmente.
Su nombre es la unión del título de la película favorita de la banda, "The Squid and The Whale", y el nombre del director de dicho filme, Noah Baumbach. También son seguidores del director Wes Anderson, ayudó a producir "The Squid and the Whale" al lado de Baumbach; la banda comúnmente firma en su MySpace como "Sic Transit Gloria", una frase frecuente en el filme de Anderson "Rushmore".
Su primer single fue "5 Years Time" (2007), sigueron "2 Bodies 1 Heart", "Shape Of My Heart" y "Five Years Time" en 2008. Los álbumes de la banda son "Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down" (Vertigo, 2008) y "The First Days of Spring" (Vertigo, 2009).
