Biografía de The Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips (formado en Oklahoma, USA en 1983) es un grupo americano de rock alternativo. Son conocidos por sus arreglos exhuberantes y psicodélicos ademas por sus sus letras surrealistas. También se han hecho famosos por sus excéntricos conciertos; incluyendo trajes de animales, títeres, proyecciones de video y globos muy grandes. En 2002, Q magazine, nombró a The Flaming Lips una de las "50 Bandas para ver antes de morir". El grupo grabó varios álbumes y EPs con el pequeño sello discográfico Restless Records durante los 1980s y al principio de los 1990s. Después de firmar con Warner Brothers, consiguieron éxito en 1995 con "She Don't Use Jelly" (conocido en Australia como "Vaseline"). Aunque sería su único éxito, la banda ha mantenido el respeto de los críticos y, en menor parte, viabilidad comercial con álbumes tal como The Soft Bulletin y Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
Flaming Lips ha sido una banda que ha buscado en todo momento el experimentar a través de su música como lo demuestra su disco de 1997 titulado "Zaireeka" el cual fue distribuido en 4 cd´s los cuales deben ser reproducidos en 4 equipos diferentes para crear la atmósfera adecuada que el disco busca.
11 Discos de Estudio son el legado que Flaming Lips ha proporcionado a la esfera experimental de la música.
